IMPORTANT:
“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say other way - things I had no words for.” (Georgia O’ Keeffe)
Have you ever had trouble mixing colors?
Do you know how to avoid muddy colors?
Do you like your background colors choice ?
Are you afraid of creating colorful darks and whites?
Would you like to use bold and vibrant colors with confidence?
This workshop is focused on Color Theory: my favorite colors mixings for flowers and backgrounds based on the color wheel.
Managing colors and values will increase your confidence as an artist: a good color mixing connected with an effective value change can describe a scene in ways words can not.
The best color combinations will harmonize, unify and set forth a visual path in your compositions: you can create variety and visual interest just using the most effective color mixing.
This workshop is not only about color mixing. I will demonstrate a couple of flowers so you will understand how to sketch them, how to connect flower and background, how to work with the white of the paper and, for the first time, I will talk about glazing techniques.
Flowers are the foundation of my technique so all workshop topics (color mixing, composition, glazing and the use of the white of the paper can be used in another subject).
I will also introduce a new topic to this new workshop: our emotional response to color. While perceptions of color are somewhat subjective, there are some color effects that have universal meaning: let’s see how the emotional power of color can enhance a composition.
Come and join my journey through the universe of colors!
- Please, check your time zone: It's a North America evening and Asia/Australia morning time workshop;
- Different flowers and demos (from first Color Theory Workshop - Aug 24)
