“There is no such thing as being lost in a vineyard. You are always in the right place” Unknown
This new workshop is focused on my love for France and wine: I want to visit one of the most beautiful parts of France, Burgundy (Bourgogne), known as a place of artistic and historical interest, also famous for its vineyards and exceptional wine.
We can find more than 10000 varieties of wine grapes existing worldwide (different colors, textures, and shapes), we can see a great still life subject just looking at a glass of wine, the vineyards leaves are amazing, they can be green or red, orange and yellow during the fall months. There are wineries on all continents, in different countries and landscapes. What else? We can find roses planted in each vineyard row too, it’s really a treat for any artist.
My first demo will be about the wine village Beaune in Burgundy (Bourgogne). I will demonstrate a typical building with flowers and light/shadow effects.
The second demo will be about still life painting. I will paint the Chardonnay grape (green) with a transparent glass of wine.
The third demo will be about a French countryside landscape: I will demonstrate a vineyard in Beaune so we can talk about how to enhance depth and mood, best mixing alternatives for green/red leaves, tips for sky painting, composition, and much more.
This workshop is a two days format: the second day will be a mentoring session. You can send one painting to my email from January 25 to 28 (by morning). I will clear your questions and provide some feedback about your paintings on January 28 (second session).
I will also demonstrate one more painting in the second session: a small flower demo. As I mentioned many times before, flowers are the foundation of my work: the last demo (4) will be about flowers and wine!with a French twist!
So…hold your glass of wine, open your palette and let’s explore together the French vineyards!
