"Painting from nature is not copying the object, it's realizing one's sensations." (P. Cezanne)
This new online workshop is focused on Landscape Composition: you will learn how to edit shapes, crop references, and rearrange elements You'll gain a better understanding of what to include in your landscape composition, what to change and what to leave out.
I will start with multiple sketches about common tree shapes: how to represent them, the most effective colors, and brush strokes. I will include plenty of information about foliage, trunks, and branches: I want to share with all participants my “tree vocabulary”.
We will analyze together a couple of references: I want to share how to improve any reference and how to create good and strong compositions.
I will also talk about positive and negative shapes in landscapes: how to enhance depth and distance and, how to suggest shapes with the background work. We will talk about the difference between spring, summer, fall, and winter landscapes.
This workshop is a two days format: the second day will be a mentoring session. You can send one painting to my email from February 08 to 11 (by morning). I will clear your questions and provide some feedback about your paintings on February 11 (second session).
So…join my new painting adventure: let’s understand together the landscape composition foundation!
