“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” (A.Camus)
My new workshop is focused on my favorite season of the year: fall, a color feast for any painter.
This time I want to explore the tree leaves: they turn from lush green to gorgeous shades of yellow, orange, red, purple, and brown. The leaves textures are also awesome: they may be leathery, smooth, or shiny. We can mix fall leaves and flowers in the same flower arrangement too!
I will also paint three different flowers: the oakleaf hydrangea (the leaves resemble an oak tree and the foliage also gets amazing fall colors), the panicle hydrangea-limelight in a gold vase (shaped blooms with shades of lime, red, pink, and brown as fall nights cool down) and the sunflower (the iconic fall symbol as some varieties bloom until the middle of fall).
What else can we paint in October? Pumpkins! We can mix pumpkins and flowers, I love this mixing of fall colors.
All participants will also receive a color chart with my favorite fall colors (individual colors and autumnal mixings and combinations).
One extra demo is scheduled for the second session: one more fall leaf or one more flower.
