“All the flowers of all tomorrows are in the seeds of today”
Unknown
This new workshop is focused on the spring season and flower markets. I have visited hundreds of flower markets in different countries, looking for subjects for my workshops. Any colorful little market is an inspiration for any visual artist! We can find different colors, shapes, scents and the mixing of buildings and flowers can create stunning painting compositions.
I will paint two different watercolors: different flower markets with different colors, architectural elements, and angles of view. The first demo will be a mixing of flowers, a close-up view of the spring bouquet. The second demo will be a flower market connected to the local urban landscape.
We will talk about composition, color mixing, brush strokes, the impressionist way of painting, and how to represent flowers and buildings in different scales: it’s an introduction to urban landscapes and architectural elements in watercolor.
For the first time, I will also talk about the basic rules of perspective: how linear perspective conveys depth through lines and the placement of forms. I want also to explore common drawing mistakes. Any sketching mistake can destroy a good composition.
Perspective, flower painting, loose painting, introduction to the urban landscape, flower markets, mixing colors, and spring mood are the main topics of this new workshop.
This workshop is a two days format: the second day will be a mentoring session. You can send one painting to my email from March 22 to 25 (by morning). I will clear your questions and provide some feedback about your paintings on March 25 (second session).
So…let’s welcome together the Spring season and paint impressionist flower markets?!
