While a reference photo is great for learning anatomy, structure, and lighting, depending on it too much can make your work look tight, stiff, or copied. My new brand workshop focuses on how to use references to create a strong base without losing a loose, painterly feel.

Experimenting without a map (photo) allows you to make new discoveries and trust your own artistic decisions, even if it leads to some "failures" along the way.: you will develop personal artistic memory and  stop copying someone else's vision (the photographer, for example) and start developing your own visual language.

Does it look scary at first glance? Yes, but finding your self expression during the watercolor wet on wet chaos is liberating. A loose painting style is risky but very rewarding at the same time so this time we will discover together how to paint the essence of each subject, not the details only.

I will paint four different flowers in two different styles: realistic and loose so for the first time I will talk and show what do I consider the essence of a subject. The “imaginary bridge”that connects reality and freedom is the main subject of my new workshop.

What else can be part of this unique workshop? We can use the loose four shapes painted in the first part of the workshop and create a small flower arrangement, with no reference and no preliminary sketch. I will guide you through this one hundred percent intuitive process, where freedom is part of the creative process.
