“Painting is an illusion, a piece of magic, so what you see is not what you see…” P. Guston
The last workshop of the year will be focused on how to paint metallic tones in watercolor and a few more subjects that are part of the Holiday Season: flowers, evergreens, berries, metallic Christmas balls (with reflective surfaces), a simple flower wreath and a quick snow landscape.
What else? So This time we will have two sessions: the first one will be dedicated to all metallic surfaces plus flowers and berries (as part of the still life composition) as usual and the second session will be a bit longer: it will include the feedback about the participants works and I will paint two more quick demos: a simple flower wreath with evergreens and flowers and a quick snow landscape so you can use them as references for your holiday cards.
As I mentioned, the second session will be a bit longer, instead of 75 minutes we will have a 120-minute session (2 hours) so we can have the mentoring session and two extra demos in the second session.
I will paint in smaller formats so everyone can use all references for holiday cards: I will emphasize a few compositional choices for cards and how to simplify and edit all references.
It’s the holiday season, it’s time to spread beauty, cheer, and love! Come and join my final workshop of the year.
- Would you like to paint gold in watercolor?
- Do you know how to use a limited palette to paint silver?
- Have you ever tried to paint an old copper vase?

- Do you know how to suggest shiny objects in watercolor?
